There are currently 2 versions of EUO running on 3 servers. The server versions are the stable build (currently version 1.008) and the development build (also known as Alpha). It should go without saying that the alpha version of EUO is very bleeding edge: it has more features but also more bugs.

The No Grind (NG) server features a level-less style of character development, not unline Ultima Online. The name ''No Grind'' comes from the fact that there is no level-grinding. Skills & stat gains are quite high, but the caps are low, to encourage multiple characters and mixing of skill sets (see [[Class Ideas]]).

This must be spelled out: when you die on the Permanent Death server (PD) your character is '''deleted'''! Do not play PD unless this point is perfectly clear. You will die due to lag, your client will crash in the middle of a nest of ettins and you will stoned to death, you will be ganked with no resurrection stones, you will have other players lure crocodiles onto you that will hunt you down until you die, and you be killed by the DM when you've overstepped the line by asking for free stuff and not thanking him for it. There is absolutely NO warranty, and when you die, NO ONE will want to hear about it, especially Egg.
