Magic Weapons and Armour
As with tints, crafted magic items require more skill than non-magic. To craft a magic item, you need the corresponding magic raw material - eg to craft a shortsword+1 you need an ingot of attack+1. This is further illustrated in the following table:
Item | Raw material |
longsword + 1 | ingot of attack + 1 |
staff + 2 | log of attack + 2 |
chain coif + 1 | ingot of defense + 1 |
copper heater + 3 | copper ingot of defense + 3 |
blackrock full helm of strength + 15 | blackrock ingot of strength + 15 |
Obtaining the Raw Materials - the Wand of Deconstruction
While non-magical logs and ore (ie they do not have a + on them) may be harvested in the wild, magic raw materials can only be retrieved from existing magic items by use of a Wand of Deconstruction.
Slaying weapons
The following table shows the premiums for magic weapons:

+0 | none |
+1 | +8% |
+2 | +16% |

+4 | +32% |
+5 | +40% |
Eg: to craft a plain staff require 4% skill in woodcrafting. To craft a staff+1 requires 12%, and to craft a staff+5 requires 44% in woodcrafting.

The following table shows the premiums for items that add a +defense:
Defense + | Extra skill required |
+0 | none |
+1 | +10% |
+2 | +20% |
+3 | +30% |

Eg: to craft a plain full helm requires 6% in armourer. To craft full helm + 3 requires 36% in armourer, and so on.

+15 | +75% |
Eg: to craft a plain platemail requires 29% in armourer. To craft platemail of strength + 10 requires 79% in armourer, and so on.
Tinted Magic Items
Magic items that have a tint may be crafted too. The minimum skill is the minimum skill required to craft the plain item PLUS the requirement for the tint PLUS the requirement for the enchantment.
