Alchemy is the science of making potions, and the conversion and processing of base materials for use with not only making potions, but for other crafts as well.

Most alchemisty is performed by using an alembic on an alchemists' bench. There are 2 other specialst tools however: the mortar and pestle and the blackrock saw: both of which are used to process monster parts (explained below).

Alchemy Recipes

Potions

  • Yellow (Heal): Ginseng + Silk + Flask (10 Alchemy skill required)
  • Blue (Mana): Mandrake + Pearl + Flask (20 Alchemy skill required)
  • Red (Cure Poison): Garlic + Ginseng + Flask (30 alchemy skill required)
  • Black (Invisibility): ??? + Shadowdust + Flask
  • Orange (Induce Sleep): ??? + Preserved Eye + Flask
  • Lime (Nightvision): ??? + Preserved Ooze + Flask
  • White (X-Ray Vision): ??? + Preserved Brain + Flask
  • Green (Induce Poison): ??? + Snake Venom + Flask
  • Pink (Cure Disease): ??? + Spores + Flask
  • Cyan (Blink): ??? + Sparkling Mote x5 + Flask
  • Brown (Speed): ??? + Bug Dust + Flask
  • Purple (Combat Boost): ??? + Essence of Rage + Flask
  • Mega Yellow (Full Heal): Yellow Potion x5 + Reinforced Flask
  • Mega Blue (Full Mana): Blue Potion x5 + Reinforced Flask

Only the recipes for the 3 basic potions have been completed so as not to make things too easy. Have fun figuring the missing ingredients out.

Improved Yellow Potions

  • Improved yellow potion: combine 2 yellow potions, 30 skill
  • Refined yellow potion: combine 3 yellow potions, 50 skill
  • Greater yellow potion: combine 4 yellow potions, 70 skill

Non-Potion Recipes

  • Vampyric ore: regular ore, vampire dust x5, mandrake x3, min skill 50
  • Venomous ore: regular ore, nightshade x4, snake's venom, min skill 40
  • Vampyric log: log, vampire dust x5, mandrake x3, min skill 50
  • Venomous log: log, nightshade x4, snake's venom, min skill 40
  • Treated blackrock: blackrock ore, dragon scales x6, mandrake x3, nightshade x3, min skill 65
  • Ebony log...

Ingredients

Reagants

  • Ginseng
  • Garlic
  • Spider's Silk - dropped by spiders
  • Sulpherous Ash
  • Black Pearl - rarely 'caught' when fishing
  • Mandrake - search a swamp at any midnight
  • Nightshade - search the forests at at midnight on the new moon

Monster Parts

Monster parts are needed for any advanced Alchemy. Raw monster parts are not suitable - they generally need processing first. For example, the carapace dropped by the insect swarm needs grinding into bug dust by use of the mortar and pestle.

The following conversions require the alembic to be used at an alchemists' bench, except when stated otherwise.

The vial, jar, saw, and seive can all be created by an experienced tinker.

  • Fang + Vial = Serpent's Venom
  • Brain + Jar = Preserved Brain
  • Eye + Jar = Preserved Eye
  • Ooze + Jar = Preserved Ooze
  • Heart + Vial = Essence of Rage
  • Use Blackrock Saw on Dragon Hide = Dragon Scales
  • Use Mortar and Pestle on Horn = Shadowdust
  • Use Mortar and Pestle on Carapace = Bug Dust
  • Use Sieve on Diseased Bandage = Spores
