Tinted Ingredients and their Skill Requirements
Tinted Metal Weapons and Armour
There are 6 types of metal (other than iron) that can be crafted into weapons and armour. The following table outlines the extra skill required to craft tinted metal items:
|Metal tint||Extra skill required||Weapons||Armour|
Eg: to craft a plain longsword require 2% skill in weaponsmith. To craft an copper longsword requires 17% skill, and so on.
Tinted Wooden Weapons and Shields
There are 5 types of wood (other than plain wood) that can be crafted into weapons and armour. The following table outlines the extra skill required to craft tinted wooden items:
|Wood tint||Extra skill required||Weapons||Armour|
Eg: to craft a plain staff requires 4% skill in woodcrafting; to craft an ash staff requires 14% skill; an Ebony staff requires 19% skill, and so on.
NB: venomous wood armours and ebony wood weapons cannot be crafted.
There are 3 types of cloth (other than plain) that can be used by the tailor. The following table outlines the extra skill required to craft tinted cloth items:
|Cloth tint||Extra skill required|
Eg: to craft plain cloth gloves require 4% skill in tailoring. To craft goldweave gloves requires 14% skill. Darkweave gloves requires 34% skill, and so on.
There are 2 types of leather (other than plain) that can be used by the tailor. The following table outlines the extra skill required to craft tinted leather items:
|Leather tint||Extra skill required|
Eg: to craft plain leather gloves require 10% skill in tailoring. To craft boiled leather gloves requires 25% skill. Studded leather gloves requires 40% skill, and so on.
Magic Weapons and Armour
As with tints, crafted magic items require more skill than non-magic. To craft a magic item, you need the corresponding magic raw material - eg to craft a shortsword+1 you need an ingot of attack+1. This is further illustrated in the following table:
|longsword + 1||ingot of attack + 1|
|staff + 2||log of attack + 2|
|chain coif + 1||ingot of defense + 1|
|copper heater + 3||copper ingot of defense + 3|
|blackrock full helm of strength + 15||blackrock ingot of strength + 15|
Obtaining the Raw Materials - the Wand of Deconstruction
While non-magical logs and ore (ie they do not have a + on them) may be harvested in the wild, magic raw materials can only be retrieved from existing magic items by use of a Wand of Deconstruction.
The following table shows the premiums for magic weapons:
|Weapon +||Extra skill required|
Eg: to craft a plain staff require 4% skill in woodcrafting. To craft a staff+1 requires 12%, and to craft a staff+5 requires 44% in woodcrafting.
The following table shows the premiums for items that add a +defense:
|Defense +||Extra skill required|
Eg: to craft a plain full helm requires 6% in armourer. To craft full helm + 3 requires 36% in armourer, and so on.
Stat bonus items
The following table shows the premiums for items that add a + to a stat (ie dexterity, strength and intelligence):
|Stat+||Extra skill required|
Eg: to craft a plain platemail requires 29% in armourer. To craft platemail of strength + 10 requires 79% in armourer, and so on.
Tinted Magic Items
Magic items that have a tint may be crafted too. The minimum skill is the minimum skill required to craft the plain item PLUS the requirement for the tint PLUS the requirement for the enchantment.
|Item||Minimum skill required||Ingredients|
|silver platemail||44% (+15%)||12 silver ingots|
|platemail of dexterity + 10||79% (+50%)||12 ingots of dexterity + 10|
|silver platemail of dexterity + 10||94% (+50% + 15%)||12 silver ingots of dexterity + 10|
